SLOWLY SIDEWAYS NEWS 16 SEPTEMBER 2009.
Registration.
Thank you to all those people in the group who have returned their registration forms along with their cheques and copies of competition licences. We now have a large number of cars on the database which proved very useful when we were contacted by Top Gear who were looking for a rally car for a future programme. Having the details to hand enabled us to find the car in question and contact the owner immediately.
Those who have not returned the form and cheque/licence we would be grateful if you would do so by the end of September 2009. If these have not been received by this time it is clear that you do not wish to be part of Slowly Sideways UK and you will be removed from the mailing list. It does not seem equitable for people who have completed the registration procedure to receive the same benefits as those who have not. If you wish to be part of Slowly Sideways and enjoy the benefits that entails please complete the form.
Rallyday, Castle Coombe, 19th September 2009.
A number of registered owners in the group will be attending Rallyday and we have a dedicated Slowly Sideways area which is near to the scrutineering building and close to gate 4. There will be a number of other benefits for SS members. Anyone who has been before will know that the traffic can be difficult and we would urge people to try and arrive early. If you have not completed a registration form and paid your annual fee please do not expect a space.
You should by now have received the tickets direct from the organisers. On arrival it is essential to unload your car and take the trailer to the trailer park which is at the end of the small stage that runs all day. Due to very restricted space this is essential if we are to make our display look professional.
Alan Watkins.
As some of you will be aware Alan has decided to stand down from the position of Events Co-Ordinator. We would like to thank Alan for his contributions and hope that we will be seeing him out on events with his car in the future.
Tim Bendle has kindly offered to step into the role as much of the hard work that he and John Marwood have been carrying out with the MSA has been concluded and I think everyone will agree that Tim is a first class choice for this role. If anyone has any objections please let us know.
